Child Custody

I need help in how the precess works, I afraid im going to loose my kids. I love them with all my heart and soul. I was in an abusive relationship for 8yrs, I finally had the courage to get out I was living in florida I moved to NY with the kids its been 8 months I've been in NY now my ex wants custody of the children and he wants to charge me with kidnapping, I've been in shelters before. I am currently in a relationship and Im not sure if that will afect in any way. My boyfriend lives with me and he does not have a backround he works and he goes to school. What wories me is that the welfare will find out and I will be in trouble with them. Please Help

Re: Child Custody

Since the children have been in NY for over 6 months, you can file an application for custody in the local Family Court. The Court will look toward the best interest of the children in determining custody arrangements.
