Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Can A child leave home at the age 18 if they have not finished school in the state of ny? And if so can you get a court order signed by a judge to keep them home until they finish school?

If an 18 year old is determined to leave and drop out of school, a court order can't stop him/her. If child support is an issue, the child can be deemed emancipated at that point and the child support obligation can end.
