Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I'm a college student currently living with my mother and her husband because I cannot afford a place of my own. Her husband wants me out of the house and went to the sheriff's office to get a court summons for me. He has always been emotionally and mentally abusive. My mother doesn't want me to leave the house. What are my options?
