Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I had told my ex in a text message that I would continue to pay for our guinea pigs' food even though we aren't together anymore. Am I legally obligated to continue paying for it even though I will be moving to another state in the next month?

I am not sure if this is a real question, but there are no support laws set up for animals.

I cannot see this being a court case, but she could theoretically claim that you promised to pay to attempt to be compensated for it.

Of course, you could just send $7 for the food.
