It depends. Are you the one that petitioned the court for custody? If yes, what is the basis for canceling or withdrawing your petition? Is it because the parties have come up with a settlement on the issue of custody or did you decide not to fight for custody any longer? If the other party started the case for custody, then no, you cannot withdraw the petition for cutody.
