Legal Question in Family Law in New York

How can I get a divorce lawyer when I have no money? My husband makes the money and I am just a house wife with two kids.

Under the circumstances you decide, most often the court will most require your husband to pay for your attorney - so you get one the same way anyone else does, you choose an attorney with whom you're comfortable, and hire him or her.

If I can be of help, please feel free to get in touch.

If you want a free attorney, you may contact your local bar association. The bar association has lists of entities and attorneys that may help you for no or reduced fee payment.

You have two options basically, you can seek help with legal aid, but not always they can fully represent you (often they just help to prepare forms); or you can hire a private lawyer and ask the court to order your husband to pay for your lawyer.

if you have further questions, please contact our firm.
