Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My husband served me with a Verified Complaint several days ago. I am going Pro Se in the action except for hiring an attorney for the Equitable Distribution part of the trial, but I am confused about how to go about doing a Verified Answer.

My questions are:

1) Where can I get a Verified Answer form?

2) The instructions I've been given tell me to write agree or deny next to all "numbered paragraphs", but my husband has split the "grounds" section up into several bulleted paragraphs within the numbered paragraph.. For starters, he is suing me under Constructive Abandonment and Cruel and Inhuman Treatment. I agree with the Constructive Abandonment but not the Cruel and Inhuman Treatment but they are both labeled under the same numbered paragraph. Also, there are different paragraphs for EACH accusation of Cruel and Inhuman Treatment within the numbered paragraph. I agree with some of these but not others so should I write agree and deny next to each non-numbered paragraph. or just write deny next to the entire thing since I don't agree with it all?

There is no form you can purchase for a Verified Answer. Each answer to each complaint is different.

The instructions you're following are accurate. However, your question indicates that you don't understand how to follow them.

If you seriously are going to try to do this yourself (which may be a very big mistake) you should search for a copy of a Verified Answer and try to mimic the style. Verified means sworn - which means your answer must be notarized.
