Re: Parental Rights

Does the father have any contact with the child?

How old is the child?

You can file for termination of parental rights, but the court will scrutinize your petition very closely.

Does the father want to have a relationship with the child?

Filing for custody might be the better course of action.

If the father does not object then sole custody will give you the right to make all decisions concerning the child until the child becomes an adult.

The father will then have to file for visition if he wants to see the child.

Sincerely,
