You can remarry the same day the judge signs the divorce; even before the divorce decree is 'filed'.

This is America. You get points for actually waiting until the divoce decree is signed by the judge.

That is a joke, but I actually had a client who did not wait! [The answer to that client's questions was: yes, the 2nd marriage is valid if the other person (the second wife) did not know the divorce was not final when the 2nd marriage was finalized.]

Once you have obtained your divorce from the court you can remarry immediately thereafter.
