Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Im separated from my wife now for a year In our agreement I share custody with my mother and jointly with her. We both had problems i went to get help and My mom has been sole caregiver for the past 9 months. My ex has made very little effort to spend time with our son over the last year but now is making more of an effort taking him three days a week. Now she wants me to drop my mom from the custody agreement and im not comfortable doing that in case i get sick again. So now she says if i don't she will pursue Full custody.I don't want to take this to court how can i avoid a legal battle.

If she refuses to act reasonably you may not be able to avoid a legal battle. Moreover, it is clear that she is preparing to position herself for a custody battle. Retain an experienced family lawyer to protect yourself.
