Legal Question in Family Law in New York

What does a "Waiver of Service of Process Action for a Divorce" mean and please put it into words a person can understand without using any legal terms if possible and why does it need to be sent back to an attorney?

It means that you are consenting to not being given copies of additional papers, usually with the exception of the divorce judgment itself. It's a common waiver in an uncontested divorce, but is not usually OK in a contested case.
