Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Car possession

My brother was arrested in Pennsylvania and that is also where he resides. Unfortunately, he left a vehicle that was brought as a gift on his soon to be ex wife. The car's title, insurance and registration is under my mother's name cause my brother used the vehicle to get my mom around help her with her errands etc. My sisterinlaw refuses to give us the car. Is there any way my mom can obtain the car legally we truly don't want a court battle just the car and that is it. Please advice us thank you. Drained in the Bronx

Re: Car possession

Ask the Sheriff's Office in the PA County, where the car is located, how to proceed to recover possession of your mother's auto. Then proceed accordingly.

All original or certified documents of title, insurance, inspections & registration will be required for verification of your claims.

Good luck,
