Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

dog injury

neighbor alleged our dog knocked him over ..dog was on our property..police report shows he refused medical help and said no injuries..Next day we see him wearing a neck collar..Claimed dog lunged at him over our fence on the side of the house..what is our next step if he tries to pursue this with a lawsuit?thank you..
