Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Legal Form

We were recently served an Order to Show Cause by our attorney who wants to be released from representing us after 6 years. We were instructed by the court to file an Affidavit of Opposition, for which we have attempted to send to the courts 3 times. We evidently are not filing it out properly. What is the correct procedure?

Re: Legal Form

You have to hand your affidavit to the judge on the return date ofthe motion. Before you oppose the motion, ask yourself -do you really want to be represented by an attorney that does not want to represent you?
