Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

in march of 2010 i fell into an open septic tank on my land lords property. I have been out of work on disability for 5 month. Unable to workmy landlord evicted me for being 31 days late with my rent. Is this legal as he is the cause of my inability to pay rent? I rented from this land lord for 4 years and was never late with payment until the accident put me out of work. what do i do?\

I would suggest you consider filing suit for your injury.

If there was any negligence on behalf of your landlord, you can file personal injury law suit.
