Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

My parked car hit 3x by same driver

My neighbor across the street Schlome has admitted to hitting my parked car 3x and left 3 notes on 3 seperate occasions. My husband took our car to be fixed at his uncle's Joe's body shop because he offered a discount. The car was there for 9 days and the final bill was $1204. The fender was removed and so was the door. At the time of payment his uncle did not provide a receipt for the payment. I shoved Simcha the receipt and he said it is too much $ and he will not pay for the whole thing, because it is only an estimate and I did now show him the actual paid in full receipt. Joe came over with the actual bill tonight and the bill was shown to Schlome. Schlome is only willing to pay for half. He thinks we are taking advantage of him. While I was leaving his home he said to me that when ''he hit other parked cars the other owners only asked for a few hundred dollars'' he has never had anyone ask for $1204.

I'd like to go to court and sue, but on the estimate it says that the skin was changed when it really wasn't because then it would've been $1700. Do I have a chance to win this case if I did go to court to get the full amount? Please help.

Yes sue him. You can do it in small claims court yourself.

Sue him in small claims court, it is easy and not expensive. You can get the forms and instructions at the Court. When you have the hearing date, make sure to bring all documents (estimate and notes from your neighbor) and pictures of the car. You may also consider reporting this to the police, 3 accidents against your vehicle and other cars seems excessive, this guy is getting away with damaging other people's property on the regular basis.
