Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

I married a U.S. citizen and right now I am in the process of adjusting my status to get a conditional Green Card. I want to file for Advanced Parole so I can go home on Christmas to see my family in Germany, it's really important to me. to see them. My question: How much in advance do you know about your green card interview? And what happens if the interview is scheduled on a day I will be in Germany? Can you reschedule it or do the immigration officers now that you are out of country? I don't want to miss the appointment. Thank you for helping.

Hi,

Advance parole application is filed concurrently with the other applications: www.h1b1.com/Uscitizen.htm

It takes about 2 months to be issued advance parole document after filing. You would abandon your adjustment of status application, however, if you travel prior to being issued advance parole document, although exceptions exist for individuals maintaining H or L visa status.
