When did your green card expire, and have you filed an application to renew it? If not, why not? You need to provide more information in order for an attorney to provide further guidance.

However, I will note that it is illegal for you to work without a valid ID.

I would advice you to update your green card as soon as possible.

You need to apply to renew your resident card using Form I-90. Note that prior to submitting your application, you should discuss your immigration history with an attorney to ensure that you are eligible for a new card and that any previous immigration or criminal violations will not affect your eligibility.
