Legal Question in Insurance Law in New York

Car accident

On friday May 23d i had an accident hitting another car from behind. The only damage at the other car(JEEP)was a tiny scratch because the crush wasn't hard and my car(BMW) really went underneath the JEEP just scratching the bumper. The other person made a report and when the police came she told them she had a little headache but she refused to have medical support.I was worried if my car insurance was gonna go higher so i met her sunday on May 25th and asked her if there was somenthing we could had worked out without involving our insurances but she refused. She told me that she had to go at the hospital and make a check-up and see if everything is ok.She told me that there is no need to report at the insurance company the damage in her car but she was going to report the medical bills. Can my insurance cover that without effecting my payments??If she goes at the hospital and nth wrong with her do i still have to pay her bills????If she had somenthing before the accident and she just want to make it big who is going to pay???Do i need a lawyer?Thank you....

Re: Car accident

1. You should report this to your carrier since she will and they will wonder why you didn't.

2. If you do not want to report it then retain an attorney.
