Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

Can I manufacture a replacement part for a patented product? When this part wears out it renders this product useless and the consumer is forced to buy a whole new product when they just need what I want to manufacture.

If you have a license from the patent holder to manufacture the part, you may manufacture the part; if not, you may be up against a patent infringement suit (which will cost you $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and just as much aggravation whether you win or lose) if you manufacture the part.
