Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

I am a software developer. Is it legal to not provide technical support or product updates to anyone who bought a copy of my software not directly from me through a new purchase but through a used software sale or through being lent a copy by someone else? Would this be enforceable in a license agreement?

Are the "used software sales" authorized by you? If so, do you have support terms in place with these resellers?

You have the ability in your software license agreement to specify the terms for support and that support is only offered if the software is licensed directly from you or an authorized reseller.
