Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New York

valuations of intellectual property

I am the executor for a multi-million-dollar estate that is donating all its assets -- including intellectual property -- to a charitable organization. Do I need a professional appraisal for the intellectual property, since there is no tax consequences, or can I get away with a best-guess estimate?

There are indeed tax consequences to intellectual property donations.

I'd get the appraisal.
