Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Boss called me piece of sh*t

I had an argument with my boss in his office today. It was about a call I transferred for a coworker. She didn't respond when I intercommed her desk for the call so I put it in her voicemail as my boss had requested I do. He is now claiming that's not what he said and that is what the argument was about. After I walked out of his office I went to my desk to get my things ready for the end of the day and I heard him say ''worthless piece of shit. Blame other people and you wonder why you are where you are''. My coworker heard the last part but missed the beginning where he called me that name as he was busy. Is there anything I can do legally about this? I really can't go back to work for someone who will be so disrespectful but I can't afford to be out of a job for even a day either.

Re: Boss called me piece of sh*t

You should probably talk to your HR department regarding the boss's comments. They are inappropriate but not, by themselves, legally actionable.
