Check/read employment contract. I'm in Europe and one of the american contractor companies (Volt) wants me to work on a contract in France. The contract is written based on American law. Need an American attorney to look at it.
Basically, my concern is to prevent the company (contractor and the company I do work for) to have legal rights to programming I do after hours. The contract is for Amadeus (french/spanish company that do airline software), whilst after hours I program for a danish foreign exchange trading software company. I dont want no conflict of interest.
What is the choice of law provision contained within your contract? That will dictate what your agreement needs to contain to protect your interests.
Depending on governing law, we would be happy to assist, as we have some experience dealing with Volt and do a great deal of employment contract work. Please contact our offices if you are interested in discussing the same. 212-319-7600
