Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Former employers won't give my notary seal back

I was hospitalized for approximately a month and then resigned from my position as manager of a small firm. My boss will not return my notary stamp to me since the company paid for an educational seminar/test prep.

Should I take legal action for this? I've requested that my license number be cancelled and said the stamp was stolen but I would like more protection since they probably used my equipment to notarize documents falsely.

Report them to the District attorney from your or their county. YOu can also sue them in small claims court and demand return there. If you find that the stamp has been used in a fraud, report same immediately to the police.

YOu can also hire an attorney and have him or her send a strong letter and that may help.

Good Luck
