Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

employment termination

I was terminated from my job with no warning. Upon my exit interview, it was never mentioned why I was being terminated. All that was said during the interview was that things were not working out and I had to be let go. When I asked for a termination letter, I was denied. I requested it be mailed and it was 1 week later. In the letter were false accusations about me so that when I would apply for unemployment, I would be denied. In the letter stated that I was nasty towards him and my co-workers, I was constantly on personal phone calls, and I was nasty to his son, the office manager. My employer has a history of firing employees and/or employees quiting. I feel as though I was let go because I decided to take vacation during a time that my employer did not want me too. There are no rules, regulations or a company policy.

What should I do when my employer has made false accusations about me to terminate me?

Re: employment termination

File for your unemployment benefits. If they challenge they will have to prove grounds.
