Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I was fired from a job on 11/17/10 and filed complaint with OSHA that the firing was because of complaint I made to OSHA regarding employer. The OSHA still processing my complaint.

I wanted to sue the employer for wrongfull termination after OSHA finalized it's investigation but that been taking too long now.

Is there a time limit after termination that one may file a wrongfull termination lawsuit?

Yes, there is a statute of limitations ("s/l"), and you're fast coming up on it. Get cracking; on 11/18/2012, it will be too late for you to file suit against your former employer. Use an employment lawyer who is local to you. Visit www.martindale.com or www.nysba.org to find one if you can't get a referral from a friend or colleague.
