Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Hourly wage cut..

After 5 months of employment my employer took me aside and told me that after checking his payroll there was an error. He said that there was a mistake in my hourly wage and for the past 5 months I was getting $2.00 more than I was hired for. He was going to immediately change my wage effective next payroll to $2.00 less. Any suggestions. I will give notice because I don't feel that I can work for any less.

Re: Hourly wage cut..

You should contact the state labor department and the unemployment insurance board, His actions could be seen as the equivalent of a firing and in the long run could cost him far more than the alleged mistake he noticed.

Good Luck.
