Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Payrate question

I work as a SW Consultant for a company in Florida My work site is in NY.If my company says thate they have been pver paying due to tehir accounting errors for over 14 months and my bill rate has to be significantly lesser. CAn they backtrack my wages and start holding them ?Infact there was no written communication over what teh actual bill rate shouldbe initially. This all started when i askwed for a raise 14 montsh back and they said will be taken care of from next paycheck. No numbers discussed or anything. If there was a mistake Do u think its legalfor them admit their mistake after 14 months and give me a paycut and a cut off teh decreased pay cut??I repeat there is no paper trail except the pay stubs which reflect hours worked * bill rate so technically tehy did not over payme i got what it says on paystub.

I do not handle these types of matters. My firm's practice in this area is restricted to employee disability benefits litigation.

Re: Payrate question

You need to ask them for a detailed explanation of what they are doing, because your question is difficult to understand. If you believe they are not paying you the proper salary you will need to have something to demonstrate what it should have been.
