Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I was physically threatened by a coworker. I was told " I hope someone on the street beats my ass and does a good job at it" This took place infront of my supervisor (who did nothing) and another coworker. Im planning to go to management tomorrow but I need to know what my rights are incase I am fired. Please advise what rights I have?

You should document each communication with your supervisor and manager IN WRITING (preferably email with Cc to your private email). Do not assume that anything you say verbally will be documented or acted upon favorably.

If you need further assistance, you may contact my office via email.
