Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I work at a quick service resteraunt as a co-manager. I am being transfered to another store in the company. I do not want to go to another store that is triple the distance. Can i legally be transferred to another store without my consent?

Unless you have a contract with your employer which states where and under what conditions you are working, you are an at will employee.

Essentially, if you want to keep your job, you will report where and when they assign you.

In examining this response, please note that we are not entering into an attorney/client relationship, that this is to be taken as informative, and not as legal advice, that it is always best to speak to a lawyer in your area and/or in the area where the transaction and/or events occurred, and that my answer is necessarily limited by the fact that I have not seen the documentation or had an opportunity to go over the matters with you in detail.
