Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I've worked in the same retail company for over 2 years and a half. As of maybe 6 months ago I switch from working the daytime to overnight. I've from people that work overnight that they receive a differential pay of a dollar, in my company and others. I spoke to my manager and he said he has not heard of no such law. Am I supposed to receive a differential pay?

There is no requirement under New York law that you be paid any additional wages for working a late or overnight shift. There may be such requirements under certain labor agreements between unions and employers but that would be governed by something other than state law.

Good luck.
