Age for renting an apartment

I was wondering If I could rent an apartment with my friend who is 22, even though im 17.

Because of your age the landlord may not allow you to sign the lease. It would be voidable by you (not binding against you) due to the fact you are a minor.

The lease would be "ratified" once you turned 18 and remained as a Tenant (become enforeable).
