Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

I have an open rental agreement with my landlord. On the 2nd of this month I was given a notice from the landlords son in law that he had bought the property. He also provided a 60 day notice to vacate the property due to his converting it into a single family home. I did not pay rent for this month as of yet. the previous landlord is now threatening me with eviction If I do not pay. My questions are

A) Can he evict after providing notice of sale

B) If the house is bieng gutted is the security deposit moot?

C) Am I responsible for rent for the next month after being given notice to vacate?
