Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New York
Auto Mechanic
I brough my car to a mechanic for a front end problem and he said he would give a free estimate. When i called later he said that he had to tear the front apart and said the estimate would cost $60. Is that right and also i think that it has something to do with that im a female.

The mechanic acted appropriately if he quoted you the fee for the estimate before doing the work. If you do not like his fee, you have the option to taking the car to another mechanic for an estimate.
