Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New York

Firing Attorney

What is the procedure to fire an attorney that is (supposed to be) handling a personal injury case? There is lack of communication, no preparation for depositions, switching of attorneys with no notice to client, phone calls not returned, and generally lack of interest after insurance amounts were disclosed and the fact that millions of dollars would not be earned. Thank you.

Re: Firing Attorney

The easiest way is to find another attorney that will take the case. Have that attorney prepare a consent to change attorney form and have the new attorney negotiate transfer of the file.
