Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New York

harassment by police

I've been ''told'' I have a felony charge but I've received no formal legal papers on this ''charge'' so I don't think it's a real charge. Still a lot of people in addition to the police follow me around. What is happening? Why haven't I already received a formal explanation?

I would need more information to answer your question. It could be the police are still investigating a charge. If you have actually been formally charged with a crime and the police know where you are, they would likely have arrested you already. If you would like to know for sure what is happening, an attorney can review the court files and/or contact the police to find out if any chartges have been filed against you.
