Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New York

had a baby almost 6 months ago and the whole pregnancy went perfect! I went to all of my appointments, exercised, ate well and followed all of the doctors instructions. One day I got nervous and didnt think that my baby was moving so I went into the doctors office, he listened to her heart and checked on a sonogram and said that everything looked fine. I had my mothers intuition tell me otherwise and asked to get further help at the local hospital. He sent me there on my request where I was hooked up to a monitor for the baby's heart and got another sonogram, all of which they said looked fine. Just when I thought I was about to sign out and leave the doctor came in adn said he wanted to do a C-section just to be safe because he didn't like the way the baby's heart was beating. We went forth with teh C-section right away and she was VERY anemic and pale when she came out and not crying. They cleaned out her passage ways and pumped some oxygen in her with a little turkey baster looking device and she started crying. They gave her to us and then took her off to get cleaned up. After my recovering I went up to the room to see her and everyone was crying saying that she was anemic and needed a blood transfusion and they were going to send her to a bigger hospital. She just layed there on a table/bed while they tried the "turkey baster" and checking her relexes for 5 hours until the other hospital showed up (which they told us they were sending her there) They didnt have an ICU unit or anything liek that for her like normal hospitals would if they had a labor and delivery wing in their hospital. Isn't it against the law to delivery babies if they don't have the proper equipment to keep them healthy? I want to know if I have a good claim because I think that I have a great one. No one informed me on anything that was happening. Me and my family had to beg for answers and what was going on. My baby ended up dying and I truely believe that it was their fault. I dont nderstand how they didnt know anything was wrong with her when she was inside of me and why they didn't have the proper equipment to take care of her after she was born. They still have not given me a real reason of why this happened, we did an autopsy and nothing signifigant was found. She went into cadiac arrest 3 times before we had to give them permission to stop working on her. Please help me.

In order to properly evaluate any potential cause of action you may have, I would need some additional information such as how far along in the pregnancy you were at the time of delivery and whether you have the medical records available for review.
