Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

advancement inquery

I was struck by a car while crossing the street. I would like to know if there is anyway I could receive an advancement because I am no longer able to work due to a crushed ankle. Can I receive one from the insurance company, or my lawyer? Will doing this jeopardize my lawsuit? Does Insurance policy matter in this case? lawyer advised me for public asst. is this wise?

There is no easy solution to your problem- you can try to obtain lost earnings from your N/F carrier, disability etc. Please consult your attorney for the details.

I recevied your post on 1-12-2001.

Unfortunately, there is no advance that can be made. Other supplemental sources such as No Fault, SSI Disability may be available to you.

Good Luck.
