You file for workers compensation with your job and with the workers compensation board immediately and get a competent local workers compensation attorney.

I am sorry for your ordeal. The first thing you must do is find a local workers compensation attorney to handle your claim. Visit my website at www.1800wefight.com for helpful hints and go to the search box and type workers compensation. Second, you may have another claim against a third party responsible (not your boss) for your injuries. The reason I say not your boss is because the workers compensation laws in New York protect employers from being sued by their employees and an employee can only sue their employer in very limited exceptions per the law. But, if someone else was responsible for the burn, like a manufacturer or designer that defectively manufactured or designed a machine that caused the accident then you may have a claim. Kindly call me, Pasquale Calcagno, Esq., for a free, confidential consultation at 1(800)WE-FIGHT. I look forward to fighting hard for your rights.

You need a workers compensation lawyer. You are entitled to benefits and your age does not matter. The employers insurance is still responsible. You also may be able to sue if someone other than your employer was at fault. For example if you were involved in construction and there was a labor law violation you can sue the owner and general contractor

If you are under 18, one of your parents should become involved. You should speak with your employer about filing a workers compensation claim. Best, M. E. Zuller
