Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York
I dog sat a dog two years ago and the dog bit my ex boyrfriend he is now sueing my family because he was bit in my home can he really sue us or does he have to sue the dog owner??

As caretakers of the dog at the time of the bite, your ex-boyfriend's lawyer would predictably name your family as defendants in the lawsuit. I presume he also named the dog's owners? Homeowners insurance will likely provide a defense. Successful dogbite cases turn on notice, however, of the dog's viscious propensities. Not easily proven by a dogbite victim, unless there is a record of previousl bites. Best, M. E. Zuller
