Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

i want to know if a lawyer that is handeling my case has not done anything for me in the past 4 years if i take him off the case do i have to pay him and will i have any legal action onme from him.

You would not have any additional obligation to pay your old attorney if you decide to replace him. His fee would be paid by the new, incoming attorney from the fees earned on your case. You DO NOT have to pay 2 attorneys for the same case.
