Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

easements

Our deed includes an easement through our property to a bordering landowner's undeveloped parcel of land. The house next door recently sold and the new owner asked our bordering landowner for permission to use the easement (which is a gravel road extending from our driveway). Now we have cars and atv's traversing our property frequently. Can the bordering lanowner grant permission without gaining our consent first? Do we have legal standing to stop this easement abuse?

Re: easements

An easment is a right of use. You would have to provide the exact language of the easment to determine whether your neighbor is properly using the land.
