Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I live in the U.S.A I was in a relationship with a guy in t&t. He built a room onto my father's property for me, now that we are no longer together he is taking my dad to court claiming he wants all his money back he paid for materials in building the room. Can he do this since it was built while we were in a relationship?

He would have to show that he performed the work with your father's permission. No permission, no right to sue Dad. If you're in the Small Claims Part, you could have a problem, and should move the case to Big Boy Court in order to avoid the small claims nonsense.
