Sell home under nonfiled deed

I had a deed transfer from father to son 2 years ago

now that im trying to sell the home

my father wants money after the deed paperwork i have is finished

i havent filed the deed with the town but can anytime

What legal rights does he have to getting money from me?

It depends on what you agreement with him was. The fact that the deed remains unfiled does not mean that ownership has not transferred...it just means the deed is not recorded.
