Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I am a tentant in a house in NYC that was forclosed on. The bank gave me 3 months to move out. Now the previous landlord says he now owns the house again and wants the back rent. Do I have to pay him?

It would depend on the landlord's agreement with the bank. If the bank assigned its rights to rent to the landlord during the bank's ownership of the house, then the answer would be yes. You would have to pay.
