If a Medicaid recipient has an account, regardless of whose funds are in it, they are deemed to be available to the recipient. If the recipient has a joint account, regardless of whose funds are in it, they are ALL deemed available to the recipient.

If you would like to know how to segregate or protect assets, please contact our office for more advice.
