Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

I got pulled over going 59 in a 30. I know not feeling well, not knowing it was 30, and not realizing I was going that fast is going to matter. I am just petrified I am going to he my license suspended. The last ticket I received was in 2011- in November. Idkkkk if that was a speeding conviction or it was reduced to a traffic violation...I can't remember. Anyways- I just want to know if I should hire an attorney or take my chances that the da will lower it. Please provide me good news to put my mind at ease.
