Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

how may i sort out this family dispute.

My father passed away when i was 14. I am now 20. I have 3 other brothers. He stated in the will that all of his money is to be split four ways amongst all of us but only has two of us named as beneficiaries on his funds. Does the beneficiary status cancel out the will or vice-versa?

If an asset, such as a mutual fund, has a named beneficiary, then it passes directly to the beneficiary. Such assets do not pass through the estate and the will does not control how they are distributed.
