Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

I don't know what should I start from

Hello.

My mom died in in a car accident, and she didn't have Will. my sister was put as a person who open a case with a lawer she found. But she is not willing to talk to me, she hang up on me, and I even don't what's going on and the status of a case. My sister didn't send me anythig. What should i do to find the status of this case, and what going on with it.

Retain your own attorney to investigate and see if the matter is being handled properly. I have access to NY courts.

You can check with the Surrogate in the County where your mother resided when she died, to see if anyone filed for appointment as Personal Representative or Administrator of her estate. It sounds like your sister has filed a wrongful death action, which should be for the benefit of the entire estate, not just her. The attorney handling the matter should keep you advised on what is going on, since he acting for the estate.
